Quinceañeras

QUINCEAÑERASThe celebration is a way of acknowledging the young woman has reached maturity and is ready to take on additional responsibilities. Most importantly, the celebration reaffirm’s her religious faith and the traditional virtues of the Catholic family.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Make an appointment for an initial interview six months before the desired date.

2. Must be registered members of the parish

3. Both parents and Quinceaneras must come to formation classes for six months.

4. Both parents and Quinceaneras must bring a bible. If one does not own a bible, one can be obtained in the parish office.

5. Parents can reserve a date after signing a convent and agreeing to meeting all formation requirements and mass assistance. To reserve a date, we require 50% deposit of corresponding fee. In the event the celebration needs to be cancelled, deposit is non-refundable and is considered a donation to our parish. If it is a group Quinceanera, the deposit is $175.00; if it is an individual quinceanera the required deposit is $225.00.

6. Both parents and Quinceanera are required to assist mass a minimum of twelve times (3 months), in which you will be given contribution envelopes to drop in the collection baskets to prove mass attendance.

7. Quinceanera must attend our Youth Group every Friday a minimum of twelve times

8. Quinceanera must attend a retreat:Youth Encounter

* Applications are to be turned in on the first week of February at the Valley Missionary in Coachella.

* Applications are to be turned in on the first week in May at the Valley Missionary in Coachella .

* Pathfinder 2010

* Date TBD

9. You must make an appointment with one of our priests for a last interview six weeks before the quineanera. This is to verify that both parents and quinceanera have completed all requirements (classes, retreat, mass attendance and youth group)

10. On the sixth session the quinceanera and the parents should receive a packet with instructions on the celebration process, which includes the participation of the Godparents, photographs, chorus, church decorations, etc,.

Fee Schedule

$200.00 for members who have contributed at least $500.00 to the parish in the previous year.

OTHERWISE: $450.00 Single Quinceañera.

$350.00 Group Quinceañeras

$600.00 for non-members

 

Even though a Quinceanera is not considered a sacrament a Quincenaera is a joyous celebration of a young woman reaching the age of 15.
