Sacrament of RICA
Sacrament of RICA
Adult Catechumens are formed in the ways and practices of the church through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
RCIA involves only those who have never been baptized. However, for pastoral reasons, we at Our Lady of Perpetual Help combine the formation of catechumens (the un-baptized) with candidates (those who have been baptized) in a church or community other that Catholic) who wish to enter full communion with the Catholic Church. Those who are to be baptized are referred to as Catechumens. Those who are already baptized Christians but wish to enter full communion with the Catholic Church are referred to as candidates.
